How to visit Australia in just one week
How to visit Australia in just one week

Thousands of kilometers of coast and a beautiful beach, the largest and finest coral reef, desert landscape, a truly varied wild fauna, sophisticated cities nearby the tropical forests and mountainous national parks. When it comes to Australia, the question is not whether one has much to see, but rather how much time one has to see it all.

Either you can only stay two days or a whole month, Australia has much to offer. Since you have a choice between a lot of true continental attractions, it might be hard to establish a sightseeing itinerary. Given the fact that most tourists have to travel a considerable distance just to get to Australia and must endure the fatigue caused by time zone differences, it is advisable to select and visit just a few destinations if you do not have too much time.

If your journey is limited to one week, focus your attention on Sydney, the impressive Great Barrier Reef and the massive monolith Uluru, in the Red Center region. Once in Sydney, do not miss the famous Bondi Beach, the extremely interesting historical sites and attractions such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera. Fly north and go on a day cruise to the Great Barrier Reef. The reef is wonderful, with huge corals and colorful fish swimming through tropical islands. The last stop must be Uluru, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mountain is sacred to the Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area. The area around the formation is home to an abundance of springs, waterholes, rock caves, and ancient paintings.
