The Scan Pyramids is about to reveal impressive secrets
The Scan Pyramids is about to reveal impressive secrets

Egyptian Minister of Antiquities reaffirmed on Sunday, 17th of January, that the pyramids scanning project that uses brand new technology is advancing and some interesting “secrets” are to be revealed soon.

The scientific mission “Scan Pyramids” is an unprecedented, non-destructive, large-scale project that stared in the early November of 2015 focusing on four masterpieces of the Fourth Dynasty (2575-2465 BC). In the passing months, scientist have been searching for secret chambers located within the Egyptian pyramids, and also for additional insight into how these amazing structures could have been built. Organized by the Faculty of Engineering of Cairo and the Paris-based Heritage Innovation Preservation Institute, the project wants to conduct profound examinations of the pyramids using non-invasive methods such as thermal imaging with infrared cameras, sophisticated radars and X-rays of cosmic particles crossing permanently the Earth.

It is expected that the monumental pyramid of Cheops (146 meters high), considered to be built 4,500 years ago (certainly before the invention of the wheel) and whose construction secretes have never been entirely discovered, to reveal one of its "secrets" by the end of PyramidsScan mission scheduled for the end of 2016.

Also, some "thermal anomalies" were observed on the north side of the pyramid of Cheops, announced Mathieu Klein from Laval University in Quebec. According to experts, large temperature differences between adjacent blocks may indicate a cavity or a lane. "These preliminary results show that there is good news to be announced', the Egyptian Minister said, adding that: "the pyramids surprised us with many challenges, but it is too early to reveal them”.
